Sorry, Queen Granny! It may be tradition for royals to spend the holidays at Sandringham, an estate in eastern England, but Kate Middleton and Prince William made their own rules this year.

Of course, Queen Elizabeth II approved of the young royals' plan to spend the holiday with the Duchess' family in the village of Buckleberry, where they attended Christmas Day mass at St. Mark's Church.

Middleton, who is fresh off of an extended hospital stay due to acute morning sickness, was spotted hiding her growing baby bump with a burgundy coat, though if she is showing it doesn't seem like it's very much. Meanwhile, William matched his pregnant wife with a red tie and sleek suit.

Though they were away from Buckingham Palace, Kate and Wills were still able to feel like they were hanging out with the Queen -- as did the rest of the citizens of the U.K. The monarch gave her annual Christmas speech on Dec. 25, and this time it was in 3D.

"For many, Christmas is also a time for coming together. But for others, service will come first," she said. "Those serving in our armed forces, in our emergency services and in our hospitals, whose sense of duty takes them away from family and friends, will be missing those they love."

The Queen continued, "And those who have lost loved ones may find this day especially full of memories. That's why it's important at this time of year to reach out beyond our familiar relationships to think of those who are on their own."

Speaking of the armed forces, Prince Harry, 28, spent Christmas in Afghanistan with his troop at Camp Bastion. Sources tell Us Weekly that he "marked Christmas just like any of the other troops" with caroling and sports.
