Homemade Brownie Mix

Yield 16 servings

Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour         
1/2 cup white or bittersweet chocolate chips (optional)
1 cup granulated sugar         
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, almonds, peanuts or pecans (optional)
1 cup golden brown sugar         
1/2 cup sweetened coconut flakes (optional)
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder         
1/2 cup dried cherries or cranberries (optional)
1 teaspoon baking powder         
1/2 cup chopped caramel candies
1 teaspoon salt

Directions
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients evenly. Package in a gallon-size zip-top bag or a quart-size canning jar. (Add up to 3 of the optional ingredients).

Note: To bake brownies, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and butter an 8 x 8-inch metal baking pan. Combine 3 1/2 cups of the mix with 1 stick melted butter and four eggs. Spread in the prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until just set in the center. Cool before cutting into 16 squares.
