Khloe Kardashian: "Divorce Is Not an Option"

Khloe and Lamar cancelled

Khloe Kardashian is prioritizing being a good wife over being a good reality TV star, and for that we respect her. The 27-year-old is putting her TV show on hold in order to help get hubby Lamar Odom's basketball career back on track.

"We just wanted to prioritize a little," she tells People of the couple's decision to take a break from filming their E! show Khloe & Lamar after its current second season. "We just wanted a little pause. Part of being married is knowing when your husband needs your support."

Just because they won't have their own show right now doesn't mean that fans won't see Kardashian and Odom. They'll still appear on Keeping Up with The Kardashians (which comes back May 20), but won't be in the spotlight as much. Kardashian says that means "there's less pressure on us."

Thanks to Khloe & Lamar, fans were privy to the drama surrounding the couple's move from Los Angeles to Dallas four months ago so Odom could play for the Mavericks -- and things haven't exactly gone smoothly since. After a season in which Odom posted career-low marks in scoring and rebounds, the Mavericks put the 32-year-old on their inactive roster in March.

Odom and Kardashian have since moved back to L.A., and it's currently unclear what Lamar's future in the NBA holds (he could be traded or released once the season ends). But at least he can take solace in the fact that Khloe is sticking by his side.

"I'm a modern girl, but you should put your husband first," she tells People. "I like to think divorce is not an option."

And if you're busy mourning the end of Khloe & Lamar, at least you can be happy that E! and Khloe insist on calling this a "hiatus" and not a cancellation.

"The show has NOT been cancelled," Kardashian's publicist told EW after rumors started cropping up. "It will depend on their schedules as Lamar's basketball schedule is a priority."

Khloe concurred. "Our show is not cancelled," she told Entertainment Tonight Tuesday. "Lamar and I have chosen... to take a break this summer... We just want to take a little time off for Lamar to be with family time, kids, basketball, Olympics, you never know. So, we have a lot on our plate right now."
